Summary
Works under the Director of Surgical Services to lead staff in the OR, PreOp and Recovery Room areas. Support efforts to enhance patient/physician and staff satisfaction. oversee departmental cost and OR efficiencies, promote quality of care and clinical outcomes, change management and any other relevant responsibilities related to this position. Serves as part of the entity management team focused on promoting the mission, visions and values of UNC Nash and Nursing Professional Practice, embracing a person-centered philosophy while promoting patient-family centered services across the continuum and enhancing value-driven outcomes. UNC Nash has a robust and efficient surgical program. The OR performs both inpatient and outpatient procedures on adult and pediatric populations. NGH OR has 8 Operating Rooms and 1 Procedure Room. The Nurses and Surgical Technologists provide intraoperative care for a variety of service lines including GYN, GU, General, Colorectal, Orthopedics, Neuro, Urology, Pulmonology and ENT. May be required to assist in staffing as necessary to provide clinical care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of Accredited Nursing Program.
Bachelor's degree (BSN) required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Current License in the State of North Carolina as a Registered Nurse
BCLS certification required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years of relevant experience in healthcare, including at least one (1) year of relevant leadership experience required.
Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.
