A Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. The Sterile Processing Technician's responsibilities include retrieving contaminated supplies and delivering sterile supplies, maintaining inventory, and preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries, examinations, and procedures.

A Sterile Processing Technician will be meticulous with strong attention to detail. Have a good working knowledge of a variety of sterilization techniques and be able to work with fragile equipment. Performs all required cleaning tasks and any other duties as assigned by the Manager or designee.

Education, Licensure, Experience, and Other Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED is preferred. 
  • Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution must be accomplished within 12 months upon hire. If you fail on your first attempt, you will be allowed to retake the test again within the next 6 months.
  • Familiarity with surgical instruments, instrument processing, inventory management, and inventory computer systems is preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.

Salary Information:

  • $15.30- $22.95/hour
  • Non-Exempt
